You can prepare Matcha in different ways:
- Ceremonial Matcha
1. Warm up your bamboo whisk (chasen) in a bowl with hot water.
2. Sift 2g of Matcha (1 stick) into a dry bowl (chawan).
3. Add 60 ml of water at about 80–90°C (not boiling).
4. Whisk with the chasen in an M or Z motion until a foam layer forms.
- Quick and easy
1. Add 2g of Matcha (1 stick) to a shaker or glass.
2. Add 60 ml (or more, to taste) of warm water (80–90°C).
3. Shake or stir until fully dissolved.
- Matcha Latte
1. Follow one of the above steps to prepare the Matcha.
2. Pour warm milk or plant-based milk (like oat milk) into a glass.
3. Add the prepared Matcha.
4. For an iced latte: add ice cubes to the glass before adding the milk and Matcha.
5. Optional: sweeten with honey or syrup.
